Conceptualised in 2016 & founded in 2018, the Shy Foundation is dedicated to creating a safe and empowering environment for survivors of child sexual abuse (CSA). Through focused education and outreach programs, we foster healing and promote awareness
Our key project centers on Personal Safety Education in schools, teaching children and adolescents (from pre-primary to age 16) about personal safety so they can recognize and seek help in unsafe situations. Additionally, our team trains and empowers teachers and parents with the knowledge, attitude, and skills needed to prevent and address CSA. Since our inception, the Shy Foundation has impacted over 3,00,000 children and 40,000 adults and has collaborated with 550 schools across the country.
The Shy Foundation aspires to be a national thought leader in the CSA space, utilizing innovative impact models that engage a broad range of stakeholders, including children, parents, state bodies, and teachers. We are committed to addressing issues of child abuse, harassment, and educating on the distinction between good touch and bad touch, equipping schools to effectively manage and prevent such incidents.
